About

When we started Nuvola, we wanted to build a cloud where people and organizations had more than just a place to store their data. We wanted them to have genuine control over it. We soon realized that to make that possible, we needed to build the technology ourselves. That led us to develop our own distributed storage network, Vola Network, encryption, authentication, APIs, and eventually Nuvola Drive.

In 2026, we brought that vision into practice with the launch of the Vola public testnet, Vola Explorer, our own API, and Nuvola Drive across web, iOS, and Android. With private, on-device encryption and shared drives for teams, we’re making independent cloud technology something people can actually use.

We’ve spent years building networks, operating infrastructure, developing complex systems, and bringing new technologies to market.
